As operator of the Société des Eaux de Saint Marc (SESAM), LYSA won the contract for the management of the drinking water network in the town of Saint-Marc. This management was delegated by the National for a period of 15 years.
This is the first contract of its kind in Haiti – and it is governed by the new law on water that was passed in March 2009 by the Parliament of the Haitian Republic, a new legal framework which aims to gradually transfer the management and operation of water and sanitation systems to local authorities.
